Sorry to Disappoint, but I'm Still an Atheist! (2001)

Flew dispels those rumors which seem to keep popping up that he has converted to theism. [Editor's note: This article no longer represents Flew's current position. For the most recent information, see Antony Flew Considers God...Sort Of, below.]

Antony Flew Considers God...Sort Of (2005) by Richard Carrier

Antony Flew is one of the most renowned atheists of the 20th century. He is now considering the possibility that there might be a God--sort of. What's going on? Carrier has had direct contact with Flew and tells us what's going on; it's certainly not, at least not yet, what some theists would like to think.

Arguments to Design (1996)

It is precisely and only in so far as there is dispute as to whether objects of some kind are indeed artifacts that there is need for argument to settle the question; and, in particular, for argument from experience.

Could We Survive Our Own Deaths? (1998)

Flew argues that we do not survive our own deaths.

The Presumption of Atheism (1984) (Off Site)

Flew argues for a presumption of 'atheism,' which he defines as the lack of theistic belief.

Stephen Hawking and the Mind of God (1996)

Hawking ought to adopt the position the existence of the universe and the subsistence of whatever may be discovered to be its most fundamental laws ought simply to be accepted as the explanatory ultimates for which no further explanation is either necessary or possible.

Theology & Falsification: A Golden Jubilee Celebration (2000)

A reprint of a 1950 essay in which Flew argues that the concept of God is meaningless, since it cannot even in principle be falsified, and therefore since 'God exists' denies nothing, it asserts nothing. This reprint, provided by Philosophy Now, includes a new preface written in 2000.

The Terrors of Islam (1994) (Off Site)

Flew argues that Islam is one of the "Great and terrible systems of divinity and philosophy that lie round about us, which, if true, might drive a wise man mad." He demonstrates the Koranic basis for Islamic hatred of infidels and then points out why this religion is not credible.
