Mortimer Jerome Adler
Mortimer J. (Jerome) Adler was born in New York City on December 28, 1902 and died in Northern California on June 28, 2001. In between, he was noted for his associations with Columbia University, the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), and the University of Chicago, where he was the driving force behind the publication of the Great Books of the Western World collection.
