Advancements in the field of artificial intelligence continue to rage forward. Skeptics question how successful research in this field will be. Advocates believe the field offers valuable insight into human intelligence and consciousness and will provide useful knowledge. Critics disagree, believing that vary little comparison can be made and that the work being done will not add to our understanding of ourselves. We hope to explore the issues involved on the subject of artificial intelligence by presenting two viewpoints here.
