I call Christianity the *one* great curse, the *one* great intrinsic
depravity, the *one* great instinct for revenge for which no expedient is
sufficiently poisonous, secret, subterranean, *petty* — I call it the *one*
mortal blemish of mankind.
Friedrich
Nietzsche
A certain sense of cruelty towards oneself and others is Christian; hatred of
those who think differently; the will to persecute. Mortal hostility against the
masters of the earth, against the ‘noble’, that is also Christian; hatred of
mind, of pride, courage, freedom, libertinage of mind, is Christian; hatred of
the senses, of joy in general, is Christian…
No god ever gave any man anything, nor ever answered any prayer at anytime,
nor ever will.
What has been the fruits of Christianity? …Superstition, bigotry and
persecution.
Once there was a time when all people believed in God and the church ruled.
This time is called the Dark Ages.
A long and wicked life followed by five minutes of perfect grace gets you
into Heaven. An equally long life of decent living and good works followed by
one outburst of taking the name of the lord in vain– then have a heart attack
at that moment and be damned for eternity. Is that the system?"
Religion; A Daughter of Hope and Fear trying to teach to Ignorance the nature
of the unknowable.
God didn’t create Man. Man created God
One of the most amusing things in the world is to go to a church and watch
Christians scramble around under the watchful eye of their schizophrenia.
A clarification of Christianity: Thou shalt not kill, except in the name of
God, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Ghost.
If Jesus loves everybody then why would he send people to hell?
Ignorance is the mother of devotion.
The truths of religion are never so well understood as by those who have lost
the power of resoning.
The more I study religions the more I am convinced that man never worshipped
anything but himself.
If you don’t even give a thought to the wackos on the streets that go around
saying they are god, why on earth would you believe some guy who went around
saying it two thousand years ago?
What does it say about God if he goes to the trouble of creating an existence
only to shower it with misery unless they worship him?
In response to this quote: "If Jesus loves everybody then why would he send people to hell?" If Jesus died for us to make the free gift of eternal life avaliable, why would people refuse it? I do not feel obliged to believe the the same God who endowed us with Sense, Reason, and Intellect had also intended us to forego their use. Galileo Galilei If Jesus were to stand up today, he’d be gunned down cold by the CIA. The The The more I study religions the more I am convinced that man never worshipped anything but himself. Istvan The more I question the origin and meaning of our existence, the less I care. And the less I care, the more I question myself. Jack Kolber If you don’t even give a thought to the wackos on the streets that go around saying they are god, why on earth would you believe some guy who went around saying it two thousand years ago? I don’t pray, because I don’t want God to know where I’m at. unknown Men never do evil so completely or cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction. Blaise Pascal I believe there is something out there watching over us. Unfortunately, it’s the government. Woody Allen Don’t you know there ain’t no devil, there’s just God when he’s drunk. Tom Waits The idea of God is the sole wrong for which I can not forgive mankind. Marquis de Sade My God can beat up your God. "God is dead" – Nietzsche "Nietzsche is dead" – God The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who supress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rathe! r than the Creator – who is forever praised. Amen. Romans 1:18-25, NIV What does it say about God if he goes to the trouble of creating an existence only to shower it with misery unless they worship him? I have faith in God similar to how I have faith in the sun. Not because I can see it, but because I can not see without it. I think that God’s got a sick sense of humour, and when I die I expect to find him laughing. Depeche Mode song "Blasphemous Rumours" You’ve taken my thoughts, my means of survival, thrust in my hand your gun and your bible. You told me to kill for the lord up above. you’ve given me hate when I know there is love. If God is the answer, it must have been a very stupid question. alt.atheism I won’t believe in Heaven and Hell, No saints, no sinners, no devil as well. No pearly gates, no thorny crown, You’re always letting us humans down. The wars you bring, the babes you drown, Those lost at sea and never found. And it’s the same the whole world round. The hurt I see helps to compound, that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Is just somebody’s unholy hoax, And if you’re up there you’ll perceive, That my heart’s here upon my sleeve. If there’s one thing I don’t believe in… It’s you, Dear God.

History does not record anywhere at any time a religion that has any rational
basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the
unknown without help. But, like dandruff, most people do have a religion and
spend time and money on it and seem to derive considerable pleasure from
fiddling with it.
